Formerly called Google Web Fonts, Google Fonts is a bank of different open-source fonts that can be accessed to display text on a webpage. The font repository is based in the cloud and as such is accessible anywhere and at any time.
According to Google, the database contains over 800 fonts. On the Google Fonts webpage, website owners or developers can search for fonts by their appearance to find the font they believe matches with their website’s content. The Google Fonts tool has made it simpler for website developers to access stylish fonts that render across a variety of operating systems and browsers.
