Producing high quality content isn’t just a good idea to provide more value to your users, it is how you’ll rise in Google’s page ranking as well. Google’s Penguin, Panda, and RankBrain algorithms are slowly filtering spam and low-quality content sites from the search results. This means that black-hat techniques such as article spinning, where you use a system to automatically rewrite an article, will become a thing of the past. Instead of being delisted from Google’s search results, focus on creating high-quality content that will get the reach and the recognition it deserves. To help you get started, here are five tips for producing high-quality content today:

  1. See What Others Are Writing

When you don’t know where to begin, it’s time to look at your competition. Simply seeing what others are writing and what users are responding to is a great way to determine what kind of content people are looking for. Use your competitor’s content as an example and to brainstorm, and then consider how you could provide more value yourself. Remember, however, that your content needs to be bespoke and original. It is fine to take inspiration, but ensure the content is all yours.

  1. Do Your Research

If you want to create content that is worthwhile, you will have to do your research. Users today are highly geared against fake news, which has recently begun to trend. That is why you need to reference and use information from reputable sites and studies. The more informative your work, the more value you will provide to your readers. You want to be a reputable figure in your field, and to do that you need to provide key insight and information.

Tip: Keyword research can also be very useful. Remember, however, that if you use anything except white hat SEO techniques your site could be delisted from Google.

  1. Keep it Simple

You don’t want to overcomplicate matters. Online readers already have a very short attention span. You have seconds to entice visitors to read your post. That is why the best articles are the ones that offer guides, solutions, or general insights while also keeping the information bite-sized, easily digestible, and easy to read.

  1. Have a Worthy Headline

Headlines are what will get your article read. They are what entices users to click on your link whenever you publish your article to any social media account. Keep these headlines worthy, however. Just as Google is filtering out spam, Facebook is filtering out click-bait. Your headline should have what your article is about, how it can provide value to your reader, be unique, and say why it should be read now.

Quality content is clear, concise, and easy to read. It is content that provides value to your readers. It is content that is correct and informative. Creating high-quality content is what will get you natural back-links. It is content that allows you to inform your readers about your insight into the industry while also advertising yourself. Users are too savvy to fall for cheap marketing gimmicks. Content marketing is how you will increase your reputation, your readers, and your organic traffic.
