The web 3.0 definition is a decentralised version of the internet that is not controlled or monitored by big corporations or the government like the internet is currently. The main web 3.0 meaning allows users to have increased ownership, privacy, and transparency over their data and personal information. Web 3.0 technology is built on blockchain that enables secure encrypted transactions and transfers of data.

By definition, web 3.0 does not require permission from central authorities to determine who can and can’t access information. It also doesn’t require trust, meaning everyone has access to information. It also uses artificial intelligence to create smart search engines that can understand information like humans. People will also have access to information and the internet through any device, not just computers and smartphones.

Web 3.0 is appealing to many people as it gives them more control over data, better security, and more freedom to access information without discrimination. With web 3.0, the onus is on users to create and own information, so there is no power hierarchy. It also promotes cryptocurrency as the main currency.
