Organic search results are results that are displayed by a search engine that are determined by their relevance to the query keyed in by a web user. Organic search results are filtered and decided upon by search engine algorithms, which often use machine learning in order to match queries with their desired results.
Organic search results are often held in comparison with paid search results and additional search engine results page (SERP) features, which are sometimes used by search engines for specific queries. Pay per click adverts for instance do not count as organic search results, as they have been placed in that position.
