RSS Feed

NavigationSEOUser Experience

RSS is short for Rich Site Summary, or Rich Simple Syndication. On a website, it’s an XML file that details the content on that site – whether that’s regular blog posts about a specific topic, or news stories from a publisher.

RSS feeds are used to draw together the content from multiple chosen websites into one feed on a single website, helping syndicate ends stories or bring together the content from similar niches. You’ll have encountered these when you use a news aggregator service, such as the suggested news on your mobile browser.

Why use RSS?

By using an RSS file on your own website, your content will be more accessible to those aggregator and syndication websites, enabling you to reach more people with your correctly labelled posts. This is regarded as helpful in bringing websites new audiences that they might not be able to access through organic search traffic.
