The hair restoration industry is big business. Figures predict that the global hair transplant market will reach an expected 53.17 billion dollars by 2028. This huge global growth is due to increased demand for cosmetic treatments to boost appearance and self-esteem. With this, technologies and procedures have advanced and are more effective than ever, making hair restoration treatment a popular option for those living with hair loss.
With such a vast global market, the hair transplant industry is very niche and competitive, making standing out in the search engine results pages (SERPs) challenging. With so many clinics vying for the top spots, Google has some pretty strict criteria for those wanting to appear high in results. Content needs to demonstrate strong E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness), and this is particularly important for those creating what it classes as YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) content that could impact health, safety, financial stability or wellbeing.
Falling into this category, our hair transplant clinic client came to us because they wanted to be discovered in organic searches for their blog content, as their competitor was outranking them for hair-related search terms. In our case study, you’ll learn how we increased their number of ranking keywords, improved their visibility, and boosted their organic search traffic.

Our Hair Transplant Clinic Client’s SEO Problem & Background
Our client noticed that one of their main competitors and its blog content was ranking highly for hair-related search terms. This meant that their competitor had more search visibility and would most likely be getting more enquiries for hair restoration treatments. Currently, FAQ and question-related content is doing well in the SERPs, and our client’s competitor was fulfilling this.
What Goals Did Our Client Have?
Ultimately, our client wanted more visibility for their FAQ-based content and to achieve a higher positioning for search terms. To achieve this, they needed to have a wide variety of hair-related content that was relevant to a wide range of search queries that users were looking for answers to. Our client also pointed out that there was a lot of interest in celebrities and hair transplants – so we wanted to take advantage of this.
Our Solution
Getting to know and working closely with our clients is how we like to make results happen at Click Intelligence. We kept their goals firmly in mind throughout the process and worked with the client to find the right opportunities that were relevant to their niche and make sure that they were happy with the blog topics and content strategy we came up with.
We kicked things off with thorough planning that started with a detailed keyword gap analysis against their competitors. This helped our SEO team to pinpoint where quality, authoritative content needed to be written. Once the topics for blog content were agreed upon, the SEO team got to work on crafting detailed content briefs for each blog post that were designed to fulfil search intent and rank highly in the search engine results.
A Closer Look At Our Campaign: Core Steps
Planning for the campaign started in October 2023. Once we’d carried out our keyword gap analysis and content calendar audit, we devised a content generation calendar. This consisted of the gaps we’d found through our in-depth analysis of the competition.
The calendar consisted of ten 1500-word top quality, expert-level blog posts per month that the SEO team pitched to the client first. As we wanted to meet Google’s E-E-A-T criteria for YMYL-related topics, the content had a few extra requirements:
The writing of the articles started in November 2023, and so far, 70 blog posts have been published on our client’s website on topics that range from hair-related medical advice to celebrities who have had hair transplant procedures. Our client’s hair transplant clinic did not do these celebrity procedures. Instead, the articles commented on the overall effectiveness of the treatments and highlighted the incredible results gained from the surgery.
The Results
Thanks to the extensive strategy planning, execution, quality blog writing, and the brilliant working relationship and communication we have with our client, the results of this campaign were pretty impressive.
Keyword Positioning & Growth (November 2023 – April 2024)
Since our content has been published by the client, we’ve seen a positive increase in keyword positioning and growth within Google. We’ve seen an extra 4070 search terms enter Google’s Top 100 since our campaign started in November 2023. This equates to a whopping 88.19% growth.
Of these:
- An extra 188 terms are now in the top 3 positions.
- An extra 568 terms are between positions 4 and 10.
- An extra 465 terms are between the top 11 and top 20 positions.
- An extra 1326 terms are between positions 21 to 50.
- An extra 1523 terms are between positions 51 and 100.
Data collected from Semrush shows a month-on-month increase in the ranking of organic keywords. A total of 958 keywords were discovered in the Top 10 of Google, and when this monthly search volume is combined, this equates to 194,370 monthly searches for which our client is in the top 10.
In particular, they are ranking in the number 1 position for high-value keywords, which include:
- “Haircuts for receding hairline”
- “Is collagen good for hair”
- “Artificial hair transplant”
- “Average hair loss in shower”
- “Hair styles for receding hairline”
- “Best haircuts for receding hairline”
They are also ranking in second place for:
- “Double crown”
- “Double crown hair”
- “Double crown in hair”
- “Hairlines”
Organic Traffic (November 2023 – April 2024)
Keyword positioning is not the only area where our work brought big improvements. Our client’s organic traffic also saw a healthy 82% uplift.
To chart our progress, we monitored the client’s organic traffic estimations on the first Monday of each month from November to April. There has been an increase of 11,280 organic sessions, from 10,695 to 19,468.
What Does All This Mean For Our Client?
This increase in keyword positioning, growth, and organic traffic is exactly what our client was hoping to achieve. By having helpful content that ranks highly in the SERPs, the client can build its domain authority and reputation as a leading hair transplant specialist clinic in this industry. The fact that the blogs we created for this client were heavily researched and contained links to medical research and resources means that other respectable media platforms are more likely to link back to a relevant client blog in their articles. This will help boost our client’s backlink profile along the way, further increasing their authority and reputation.
